The Summer 2025 Compass Point Prayer

This is a compass prayer for summertime!

 

We'll pray three lines of scripture at each of the four points of the compass, which you'll turn through as you go. I've split each line in two: breathe in the first half of the line, and breathe out the second half of the line. Don't try to speak the words yourself - just listen to me.
 

East:

 

In this beginning, Lord / “Let there be light!” (Gen 1)

Breathe into me / Your breath of life (Gen 2.7 +Ezekiel 37.5-6 / John 20.19)

In You / I live and move (Acts 17.28)

 

 

South:

 

Light, space, zest / that’s You! (Ps 27.1 MSG)

I will walk with You / in the light of life. (Psalm 56.13)

From my inmost being / May your rivers flow (John 7.38)

 

 

West:

 

I will trust in You / and soar on wings like eagles. (Is 40.31)

Where morning dawns & evening fades / you call forth songs of joy. (Ps 65.8)

I come to you / to seek your rest (Mat 11.28)

 

 

North:

 

At night my heart instructs me. / I set the LORD before me (Ps 16.8)

You quiet me with your love / You sing over me with joy (Zeph 3.17)

For all of my life / Your house is my home (Ps 23.6 GNB)

 

 

East:

Circling Prayer

 

Be blessed, Lord

as you bless to me

 

this air, this light, this earth, this sea;

I stand here in your family!

 

Encircle me, O Three in One,

in shining stars and rising sun;

 

within, beneath, around, above

please bind me in your boundless love.
