'I Turn to You' -

The Lent 2025 Compass Point Prayer

This is the compass prayer we'll be using for 2025. We'll pray three lines of scripture at each of the four points of the compass, which you'll turn through as you go. I've split each line in two: breathe in the first half of the line, and breathe out the second half of the line. Don't try to speak the words yourself - just listen to me.

East:

The hour has come / to wake from sleep (Romans 13.11)

I arise today / in the strength of Christ  (Ephesians 5.14 / St Patrick’s prayer).

‘To You, O God, / I lift my soul.’ (Psalm 25.1)

South:

Bread of life / I feed on you. (John 6.35)

One thing I ask: / To dwell with You …

I seek your face / And behold: Your beauty! (Psalm 27)

West:

River of life’ / ‘rise up in me. (Psalm 46 /John 7.37 / John 4.14)

May I do all things / through God, in love. (Phil 4.13 / 1 Cor 16)

Make known to me / The path of life. (Psalm 16)

North:

Even in the valley / You are with me. (Psalm 23)

Turn my ash to beauty / Bind my broken heart. (Isaiah 61.1-3)

In the watches of the night / I turn to You (Psalm 63.6)

East

You call my name / And I am Yours. (Is 43.1)

Rabboni! / Raise me up with You. (John 20.14 / Ephesians 2.6)

I arise today / in the strength of Christ. (Ephesians 5.14 / St Patrick’s prayer)
